Description: “Verdant” is a study of nature’s resilience, growth, and the interplay between chaos and harmony. Through layers of deep greens, earthy browns, and bursts of fiery orange, I wanted to evoke the sensation of wandering through an untamed forest—where life thrives in patterns both unpredictable and beautifully structured. The rich textures and varied brushwork mimic the weathered surfaces of bark, moss-covered stones, and the dappled interplay of sunlight through dense foliage.
The orange elements provide a striking contrast, suggesting the remnants of change—perhaps the embers of autumn leaves, a fleeting sunset against dense woods, or nature’s ability to reclaim and transform. The painting’s surface, built through scraping, layering, and gestural strokes, adds depth and a sense of organic decay and renewal.
This piece invites the viewer to lose themselves in the depths of nature’s palette, to feel the pulse of the earth beneath the layers of color, and to recognize that even in abstraction, there is a quiet order woven through the wild.”
